New Partners and Proven Expertise for ws&p

weber schaub & partner has accepted Matthias Heusser, Manuel Mühlestein and Marco Frigg into the partnership as of 1 January 2025. They replace Peter Schaub and Jürg Dannecker as partners, who will remain with ws&p as counsels.

For once, the topic of corporate succession and strategic planning for weber schaub & partner was their own. After Werner Weber became counsel in 2023 and Dominique Ott became a partner, Peter Schaub and Jürg Dannecker are also giving up their management roles after almost 25 years together in the partnership. They will be replaced by Matthias Heusser, Manuel Mühlestein and Marco Frigg, who have all been successfully working for ws&p for years.

Peter Schaub, who laid the foundation for ws&p 31 years ago, is pleased with the firm's development. He believes that now is the right time for him to pass on responsibility to the next generation, and he is very pleased that ws&p has been able to attract three highly qualified and committed partners. He is confident that they will successfully lead the firm into the future together with the existing partners. Werner Weber and Jürg Dannecker share this optimism and look forward to continuing to work together.

Portraets ENPeter Schaub and Werner Weber are founding partners of ws&p. Jürg Dannecker joined them in 2000. All three have shaped ws&p over the past decades and, together with the other partners, have put a great deal of passion and success into positioning the firm as a renowned tax and law firm. They always place as much importance on outstanding professional results for clients as they do on the well-being of their employees. They deserve our utmost gratitude and appreciation for their extraordinary achievements. We are very pleased to be able to continue to count on their expertise in the future.

Our New Partners

Matthias Heusser has been working for ws&p since 2009. In 2008, he graduated as a Business Economist FH and in 2012 he qualified as a Swiss Certified Tax Expert. He joined weber schaub & partner after working for the Zurich municipal and city administrations, most recently as deputy tax secretary of the municipal administration of Rümlang.

Matthias Heusser advises clients on all matters relating to Swiss tax law. His main areas of expertise are property tax cases and advising legal entities. He also assists individuals and legal entities with tax planning and tax returns. Matthias Heusser is married and has two children. He is just as nimble on the handball court as he is in Excel.

Manuel Mühlestein joined ws&p in 2019. He studied law at the University of Zurich. He was admitted to the bar after several years as a law clerk at the District Court of Zurich. He then worked as a lawyer in the litigation team of a renowned major law firm in Zurich before joining weber schaub & partner.

Manuel Mühlestein's areas of expertise are inheritance law, contract law and corporate law. He primarily advises on matters of estate planning and execution as well as contract drafting and enforcement, in particular rental and employment contracts. He also regularly represents clients in court and acts as an executor. Manuel Mühlestein is married and has two children. He is a passionate racquet sportsman and ice hockey enthusiast.

Marco Frigg has been part of the ws&p team since 2021. He studied law and economics in St. Gallen and Zurich and completed an LL.M. at King's College in London. After being admitted to the bar, he gained experience as an attorney at a renowned major Zurich law firm before joining ws&p.

Marco specializes in all areas of private client law, in particular wealth and estate planning, the resolution of complex cross-border disputes as well as trust and foundation matters. He is also experienced in dealing with aspects of tax and real estate law. Beyond that, Marco Frigg offers strategic counsel in the domains of corporate law and family governance. He is particularly well-versed in navigating complex cases with multijurisdictional issues. He is married, lives in Zurich and is an enthusiastic tennis and golf player.
